"Doctor Worm" by They Might Be Giants

You guys . . . I'm coming out some more . . . because I want you to know that I'm serious about connecting with you in a meaningful and authentic way.  Here is my confession: I really like They Might Be Giants.  I can't help it.

Anyway, tough to pick just one.  What I like about Doctor Worm is that I can see his character as the archetypical artist: working at his craft, excited to share what he's up to but also tentative because it can be scary to put yourself out there.  I also think songs where TMBG use brass are just great.  I saw them play at Irving Plaza years ago and there was a little set during the show with a trombonist and a trumpeter and, oh man, that was the best part of the night.

And now, just for fun (read: because I cant' stop myself) here's a song from one of their kids albums.  I can't help thinking of it as a sister song to Doctor Worm and also enjoying it in its own right.
